BOYLSTON, Mass. - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! The annual Night Lights returned to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill.
Roughly 15 acres of the garden are lit up with more than a quarter of a million bright, multi-colored holiday lights. The design is created by the garden's horticulture team and the tradition dates back decades.
This year, fan favorites like the rainbow tunnel made a return. But there are also a few new additions, including hanging jellyfish inside a glass conservatory, and a celebration of the environments of earth. They've also turned their bromeliad trees into a flowing volcano of lava.
"One of the things we love about doing Night Lights is that it's an inclusive experience," said Tower Hill's Jane Ellis. "Yes, it happens i late November and December. But these are lights really that show people what our botanic garden is like. They show them the shape of our trees and our bushes. They show them the gardens. They show them our indoor plant collection in ways that you'll never see it during the daytime."
The show was sold out Saturday. The botanic garden says Night Lights has been selected among the top-five best holiday light shows in the Greater-Boston area.
