WESTMINSTER, Mass. - Wachusett Mountain opened its lifts and slopes for the winter season Wednesday.
Opening day was originally scheduled for this Friday, but they were able to move it up because of the weather. With how cold it has been recently, the snow makers were able to push out enough powder to get the trails in skiing conditions.
Wachusett made the announcement in a video showing off the features they have ready to go. The mountain will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, but they will open again for the rest of the holiday weekend.
