WORCESTER, Mass. - Mission Dispensaries held their community cleanup at Elm Park in Worcester Monday afternoon.

It's part of an effort by the dispensary, which opened its Worcester location in 2020, to improve the community. About 10 volunteers were at the park and said they found a lot of trash in and around the ponds.

"Worcester is my home, it's been for over 30 years now, and my parents grew up here and lived here most of their life too," volunteer Rich Tamalavitch said. "So it's very fulfilling to be able to come to a park, see the garbage that has built up over time, and just be able to leave more pristine and make it ready for all the children so they don't have to play around and pick around garbage."

Mission Dispensaries is planning on hosting more volunteer events in the future.
