WHITINSVILLE, Mass. - Democratic nominee for governor Maura Healey made a campaign stop at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Thursday morning.

Speaking at a breakfast event, Healey, the current Attorney General, outlined the ways she intends to grow the economy and make the state more affordable. She also said she was excited for the opportunity to come to the Blackstone Valley and meet with people in the region.

"So happy to be in Blackstone Valley," Healey said. "This is a great part of the state, great people, great Chamber and it was great to have a conversation about how we can make life more affordable, how we can support our small businesses and how we fix the real challenges that are out there around housing, transportation."

Healey is running against Republican Geoff Diehl in the general election. Election Day is November 8.
