WORCESTER, Mass. - September is National Recovery Month and Everyday Miracles recovery center in Worcester is a safe and welcoming space for people who need support.
The center opened in 2008 and provides anyone in recovery or struggling with addiction, peer and staff support and resources. They offer employment research, resume building, and group meetings.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. visited the center Tuesday. He said his office is committed to helping people on their journey to recovery.
"Recovery Month to me could easily be called Recovery and Hope Month” Early Jr. said. “You celebrate successes. You don't always see a ton of successes in the criminal justice system but we understand this is a disease and work with our partners. We know relapse is part of the disease, when I say relapse if a person had the clarity had the moment where they asked for help, if they slip we want to help them back on their feet and try it again."
Everyday Miracles also runs workshops on topics like anger management, parenting, nurturing and issues specific to men and women.
