WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team's win over Yale this past weekend was impressive. The Crusaders dominated all phases of the game en route to a 38-14 homecoming weekend victory.
The players enjoyed it for a short time, but now they're right back to work on their next opponent, Patriot League rival Colgate. The team moves on quickly from both wins and losses and keeps the marching orders of head coach Bob Chesney, "get better, whether you win or lose."
"They're just such fierce competitors," Chesney said. "And I look at their bodies and physically what they've done, mentally what they've done and then you know just overall psychologically what they've done together, with each other and just really built this thing.
"We test them and fire as much as we can, we put them in many pressure situations and try to see who's going to break."
"As soon as Monday comes around, it's over with and we got to move on our next opponent," wide receiver Jalen Coker said. "Going out there and just being confident having like, just knowing that we just have that chemistry already rolling.
"And it's just everything's just going so well, so we just got to keep hammering that and just keep doing it."
The Crusaders are on the road in Hamilton, N.Y., to take on Colgate Saturday at 1 p.m. Their next home game is October 8 vs. Bucknell at Polar Park.
