WORCESTER, Mass. - Off to a 2-0 start and fresh off an upset win over an F.B.S. opponent in Buffalo, head coach Bob Chesney and the Holy Cross Crusaders are now turning their attention to Yale.
This will be the home opener for the Crusaders as they welcome the Bulldogs to Fitton Field Saturday. For Yale, it's their season opener, but there is plenty of familiarity between the two teams.
Holy Cross beat Yale 20-17 last season, and Chesney said it's a battle whenever these teams square off.
"When I look back on those previous games, it comes down to again being able to run the ball when we really, really need to," Chesney said. "The turnover battle is obviously huge and time a possession is always coming to play. They strike fast and they have, you know, some pretty heavy hitters out there at receiver.
"Their o-line's back. This quarterback can run around a lot like our guy can run around. So it's going to take a full deal here of us getting the ball back, whether be through turnovers or stops and being able to stop their run game and us be able to continue our drives by being able to run the ball when we need to."
Saturday's game will be aired live on Spectrum News 1 starting at 2 p.m.
