WORCESTER, Mass. - Early voting for the Massachusetts primary election begins Saturday.

In Worcester, voters can go to the Worcester Senior Center any time from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Starting Monday, early voting locations in the city will change daily. The full schedule can be found on the city website.

Worcester city clerk Niko Vangjeli and his staff were on-site getting voting booths ready to go Friday afternoon. He said a lot of work goes into making sure voters can participate.

"I think over the years since 2020, voting has been more accessible, more easy to get out of your way, especially with mail in voting and early voting in person," Vangjeli said. "So we have put a lot of effort into elections here in Worcester and we are hoping residents take advantage and cast their ballots."

Vangjelli said 4.5 percent of city voters have already cast ballots by mail. For those planning to vote on Election Day, Vangjeli said to make sure your polling location hasn't changed following state redistricting.

Voters in Chicopee can go to city hall and voters in Pittsfield can vote early at the Registrar of Voter's office inside city hall. Other locations and schedules can be found on city and town websites.

The deadline to vote by mail in the primary is Monday, August 29. Election Day is Tuesday, September 6.
