WORCESTER, Mass. - The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is launching a series of COVID-19 vaccine clinics ahead of the upcoming school year.

Anyone six months and older can be vaccinated at the clinics, and you don't need an ID or health insurance. Ten clinics are scheduled in Worcester, beginning Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Quinsigamond Community College. Additional clinics have been scheduled at the Worcester Public Library, the EcoTarium and the Worcester Central Community Branch YMCA.

Department of Public Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Estevan Garcia said it's important to get the word out before students head back to their classrooms.

"What we really want to do is make sure our students are as protected as they can be going into this school year, and of course going into the winter when we'll see even more viral infections out there," Garcia said. "One of the best ways to do that, and probably the best way to protect yourself as a student, is to make sure that you're vaccinated and boosted appropriately."

Details on all upcoming clinics statewide can be found on the Department of Public Health website.
