WORCESTER, Mass. - This weekend is the annual Massachusetts sales tax holiday.

Items bought this Saturday and Sunday for personal use for less than $2,500 are eligible for the tax exemption.

Businesses like Percy’s TV and Appliances in Worcester are taking part.

Owner Alan Lavine said inflation hasn't impacted their business too much because of their outlet department and they have a good supply of items.

"We have great deals in our appliance outlet department especially for the tax weekend,” said Lavine. “Not only can you save up to 80% off in our appliance department, you can also save the tax, so inflation hasn't really impacted us in the department. We’ve been very fortunate, we have lots of stock, we've been able to sell every piece we get and we have more stuff coming in on a daily basis so we're very, very fortunate."

Lavine calls it the "fairest holiday of all" because everyone can save on the 6.25% sales tax.
