SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Sunday was the perfect day to celebrate all things summer.

The town of Shrewsbury held their 2nd annual Summer Festival at SAC Park.

The event brought out the festive spirit in people with live music all day, raffles, a dunk tank and face painting.

Organizers also collected nonperishable food items for the Shrewsbury Community Fridge, which helps people in less fortunate situations access food.

The gathering celebrated bringing the community together and getting back to a normal life after a challenging few years during the pandemic.

“Yeah, you know it’s really amazing,” Andrea Castinetti, an organizer for Shrewsbury Summer Festival, said. “So many people come up to me and say thank you, and it’s just a great way to bring everyone together. It’s a free event, so you just come out, meet everyone in the community, support some local businesses, and have a great day.”

Proceeds Sunday will benefit the Shrewsbury Community Fridge.
