COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — Thousands of Red Sox fans descended onto Main Street in Cooperstown Sunday morning to celebrate David Ortiz's induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
"David Ortiz has been our family's favorite player for as long as he's been on the team,” said Joseph Skluski of Albany. “So many great memories, from 2004 all the way up to his retirement."
"He brought us the World Series that I'd never thought I'd see in my lifetime,” said Raymond Inzero, from Rocky Hill, Connecticut. “So I'm so happy for him."

Ortiz played 14 seasons in Boston and produced countless memorable moments. For many fans, it's his playoff heroics they cherish the most.
"2004 for sure,” said Jennifer and Christopher Conley of Saratoga Springs, New York. “We got married in 2004 and they won the World Series for the first time [since 1918], so that was the best, yeah."
"His home run against the Tigers in 2013,” Skulski said. “The outfielder's going over the fence into the bullpen. That probably is one of my favorite moments for sure."
Everyone might have a different favorite moment, but there is one thing all these fans do agree on: Ortiz is undoubtedly one of the greatest players to ever put on the Red Sox uniform.
"Number one as a DH, but I don't know, I'd say he's in the top-five, yeah,” said Miranda Workman of Buffalo. “Especially for what he's done for the city."
"David Ortiz is the Babe Ruth of the Red Sox,” Inzero said. “He's number one."
