MILLBURY, Mass. -- People are looking for ways to stay cool this week, including seniors at Care One at Millbury who had a visit from Jerry's Soft Serve Ice Cream Truck.
Jeremiah Bianculli has been an "ice cream man" for more than 60 years and visits the nursing home once a month in the summer.
Tuesday, he served more than 100 soft serve ice creams to residents, staff and visitors.
“Everybody looks forward to the ice cream man coming,” said Care One’s Director of Community Marketing, Cheryl Perry. “From the time when you're a newborn to even when you're in a setting like this, everyone loves ice cream.”
"This is very, very rewarding coming here because they don't get this every day,” said Bianculli. “This is a special treat for them, they look forward to it. This is the best place to be on a hot day. It’s nice and cool. The residents are getting what they want, the staff is getting what they want. Everyone is happy. It’s a win-win situation. Everybody loves the ice cream man, everybody."
Even Care One's mascot, Gracie the dog, got some ice cream as well.
