Candice Asare-Yeboah died on Monday in the hospital. She had been on a ventilator in the ICU since the accident.

According to the WPD, the driver involved in the crash is being charged with speeding, negiligent operation, marked lane violation and impeded operation. Updated charges will be filed with the District Attorney's Office to include Motor Vehicle Homicide.

In a GoFundMe post on Monday, organizer Odomay Sika Maame wrote, "Our baby Candice gained her angel wings a few hours ago and we are devastated as a family. She fought so hard to live but her injuries made it impossible for her beautiful life to continue. We have several unanswered questions and don't even know who to ask. The pain is unbearable. But we take consolation in the memories we have of her short life with us and her blessing to others."

"Your generous donations was to support mom with her mortgage and bill payment while she and Candice heal. But now, part of it will go towards the funeral of our beautiful princess Candice."

The GoFundMe has raised over $17,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
