WORCESTER, Mass. - Summer is coming, and there is a big need in Worcester again for seasonal help.

Department of Public Works and Parks assistant commissioner Rob Antonelli said there are about 150 open positions ranging from lifeguards, gate keepers, Recreation Worcester staff and maintenance workers.

Antonelli said filling the positions will help keep the city clean, safe, and maintained.

“We’re going to end up training youth and others to perform a particular job to allow them to gain that expertise,” Antonelli said. “Maybe it’s a job they never thought they’d enjoy and then go down a road of wanting to become that or work in the forestry division, or the DPW operations side, or whatever else that may happen.”
