PITTSFIELD, Mass. - U.S. Marshals arrested a Pittsfield man wanted for murder and kidnapping.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, the U.S. Marshals Massachusetts Fugitive Task Force arrested 39-year-old Anthony Robertson.

Robertson was sought by the USMS on a warrant issued by the Pittsfield District Court based on a murder that occurred in Pittsfield in December 2021. Robertson was also wanted for a supervised release violation issued by the U.S. District Court in Springfield.

Robertson was previously convicted in federal court in 2019 for failing to register as a sex offender. Robertson is a level 3 sex offender in New York and Massachusetts. 

Investigators determined Robertson had fled the state and was living with associates in Binghamton, N.Y. U.S. Marshals from the Northern District of New York-Binghamton, along with Binghamton Police, were able to apprehend Robertson at a residence in Binghamton without incident.

The Massachusetts State Police, Pittsfield Police, Binghamton Police and the U.S. Marshals Northern District of New York Syracuse and Binghamton offices assisted the Task Force.
