PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority is making masks optional for its riders effective Tuesday.

While masks will no longer be required on buses, the BRTA will encourage people to wear masks while waiting inside the transportation center in Pittsfield, per CDC guidance.

For those who still want to mask up, face coverings will remain available at the information counter in the main concourse.

Masks are now optional for all BRTA staff as well.
