MASS. -Survey data from a new research initiative and monthly poll, The CVS Health-Harris Poll National Health Project, shows Gen Z and Millennials are the most likely to deal with anxiety and depression right now.

According to the poll, 41% of Gen Z and younger Millennials are currently dealing with anxiety and depression, compared to 15% of Boomers. They’re also leading the way in feeling more burnt out from their jobs and racial inequity.

However, the study shows younger Americans are the most likely to seek professional help by a therapist or local pharmacies for support.

“They’re willing to ask for help. They’re willing to talk about it, normalize it, destigmatize it and just say ‘Hey, I’m just not okay and I want to do something about it,’” Cara McNulty, president of behavioral health and mental wellbeing at CVS Health, said."And so, there’s a lot we can do as communities. We can talk about it. We can provide services. We can provide screening tools, but we also need to let people understand that it’s okay not to be okay and to seek help."

CVS Health offers mental health screenings at their MinuteClinic locations, hoping to normalize and combating the stigma around it.  There are MinuteClinic locations in Worcester, Grafton, Northborough, Charlton, and Uxbridge.
