WORCESTER, Mass. - For most seniors in college, looking for a job in their field means interviewing with companies during second semester. For Holy Cross senior football players, Benton Whitley and Tenio Ayeni, their "interviews" with prospective employers looks a little different.
The two star players took part in Holy Cross' pro day on campus that attracted 26 NFL teams. Whitley, Ayeni and a handful of other local college stars bench pressed, dida vertical leap, broad jump, shuttle run, 40-yard dash and three-cone drill in front of the eyes and stopwatches of NFL personnel.
Whitley also did specific defensive line drills and Ayeni ran pass routes, catching balls from another NFL prospect, Brown University quarterback E.J. Perry.
