WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Railers are honoring the military community this weekend with their Military Appreciation Night.

On Monday, some of the players visited the National Guard’s 181st infantry regiment in Worcester.

The Army National Guard will host a “Touch-a-Truck” event on Foster Street before Saturday’s game. The team's Chief Operating Officer said they're big supporters of the military and the relationship grew during the pandemic.

"We have a very special connection especially with the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation,” said COO Mike Myers. “During the pandemic we teamed up and donated nearly half a million pounds of food. This is our small way of saying thank you, not just to them but to all service men and women in Central Mass."

The game is this Saturday at the DCU Center.

Players will be wearing specialty jerseys which will be auctioned off to benefit the Massachusetts Military Support Foundation.
