WORCESTER, Mass. - A power outage at the Denholm building in downtown Worcester has displaced the Worcester Community Action Council indefinitely.

The WCAC’s phone system was impacted but has since been restored for fuel clients to check the status of their applications. Clients can call 508-754-7281 and follow voice prompts and enter their social security number. Callers can also request to speak with a WCAC staff member or leave a voicemail message.

"We recognize the incredible inconvenience and additional burden this places on our clients, particularly as they are facing escalating home heating costs and lingering cold weather," said Ellen Ganley, WCAC's Director of Policy, Public Affairs and Advancement. "We ask for the public's patience as we work under these trying conditions. Our team is working as diligently as possible to address the needs of those facing utility shutoffs and those in need of assistance to pay home heating bills."

According to the WCAC, power went out last week and the WCAC hasn’t been told what caused the outage or when the power will be back on. The entire Denholm building is affected and the City inspector closed the building.

For all other matters, here are the emails to reach members of WCAC's staff:
