WORCESTER, Mass. - The Hanover Theatre released a survey this week looking for feedback on their current COVID-19 safety protocols.

Right now, the theater requires masks and either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

President and CEO Troy Siebels said the contracts they sign with the Broadway performances requires these protocols largely due to the actors’ union and musicians’ union requiring them.

So far, roughly 400 to 500 people have filled out the surveys and the majority are not happy with the mask requirement.

“I think people are frustrated with the masks,” Siebels said. “I think a lot of people would like us to get rid of the masks before we get rid of the vaccine requirement and I think we're going to try and do that as soon as we're able to."

Siebels said he anticipates the performances will relax these requirements in the coming weeks. Shows at Hanover Theatre returned in September after being closed for 18 months. 

This weekend, Hanover Theatre has performances of the musical “CATS.”
