According to records from the Massachusetts Historical Commission, the building was constructed in 1886. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
The two-story brick building was designed by the Worcester architectural firm Fuller & Delano in the Queen Anne architectural style.
The firehouse was home to Ladder 9 and Engine 14. The Worcester fire department stopped using the station in 1991.
For the past 18 years, the property owners, Quality Contracting, have used the station as office space. The two-story building includes a kitchen space and two full bathrooms.
