WORCESTER, Mass. — Former state Representative Kate Campanale is running for lieutenant governor.
She announced Tuesday she is running alongside gubernatorial candidate Chris Doughty.
Campanale was elected to represent the 17th Worcester District in 2015 and was re-elected in 2016.
She ran for Worcester County Register of Deeds in 2018 but lost to Kathryn Toomey.
Campanale said she and Doughty have a goal of making the state more affordable.
“We’re seeing every time you go to the gas pump, it hurts. Every time you go to the grocery store, the bill keeps getting higher. When the oil truck comes to fill your house with heating oil” said Campanale. “These are crushing our citizens in Massachusetts so were focused on making that more affordable.”
Doughty launched his campaign for governor in late January.
He would face Republican Geoff Diehl in a primary.
