WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester's Department of Public Works and Parks is submitting their official proposal for an improvement project at Coal Mine Brook.
The Conservation Commission will discuss the project at their meeting on Monday.
The proposed municipal park project is for a recreational facility, including a playground and adult fitness area in the Coal Mine Brook area between Plantation Street and North Lake Avenue.
Other installments include overlooks of Coal Mine Brook, educational kiosks at the overlooks, picnic areas, pedestrian lighting, accessible walkways and parking lot, perimeter wooden guardrails and fencing, tree trimming and tree plantings.
In October, the city of Worcester received a $750,000 National Park Service grant to renovate the Coal Mine Brook area.
