WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester Public Schools are asking for community input in their search for the next superintendent.
School committee member Molly McCullough says she's happy with the amount of people attending community engagement sessions and sending in feedback so far.
The sessions are held virtually with executive search firm Greenwood/Asher & Associates. They're looking for opinions about the ideal candidate's experience, leadership qualities, and communication skills.
McCullough hopes more people will attend and give feedback.
"As much as people say, ‘What does my input really mean?’ It is being taken into consideration and that's what this firm is here to do,” McCullough said in an interview on Wednesday. “They're here to work with us to really process all of that, put together a good picture for us.”
“As school committee members we can hear different input from people, but typically you have the same people contacting you on a regular basis and even when you're trying to get input from other groups, there's a whole section that you don't necessarily hear from and we really want this to be representative of our community,” McCullough added.
The group is holding sessions until Jan. 26. The full schedule can be found here.
