WORCESTER, Mass. - If you're looking for a fun and educational place to go over winter break, the EcoTarium in Worcester is offering different activities throughout the week.
The science and nature museum is celebrating “Fire and Ice Week" from now until Dec. 31.
The EcoTarium says kids will get a chance to meet cold-blooded critters who fight winter with antifreeze and learn what color fire is.
"We have table top demonstrations where kids can try to figure out if you're trying to put a flame out just using carbon dioxide so others can do a chemical reaction that way, “ Rachel Quimby, EcoTarium’s public programs coordinator, said. “We also have a disappearing snowman. That involves a tea bag and a convection current. It sends the tea bag way up into space which is fun for the kids to look at as well.”
The EcoTarium will also celebrate New Year’s Eve on Friday with their Noon Year’s Eve event. At 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. the museum will have a ceremonial ball drop to ring in 2022.
