WORCESTER, Mass. - There's snow in the forecast for Wednesday and Worcester's Department of Public Works say they're prepared.

DPW Commissioner Jay Fink says this will be the second time this season crews will be on the roads. He says some of their trucks broke down during the first storm, but they’ve been repaired and are in good shape for this storm.

Fink says they’re planning ahead, and looking into the possibility of pretreating roads so there is salt residue on the streets to help keep them clear. Fink says they're still not at their full capacity of plow truck operators and right now have less than 300 snow plows..

"We are still a little bit shy, but we are still seeing the trucks and drivers trickle in. We are still hopeful we're going to hit the 320 that we need," Fink said. "Again, we've got the majority of what we need in place ready to go so that even if we were to get 12 inches of snow (Wednesday), I think we would be ready to deal with that."

Fink says having fewer vehicles and equipment ready means their crews will be out on the roads a little bit longer.
