SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. — The Southbridge Garden Club's annual Greens Sale brought the holiday spirit to town on Saturday.

The sale featured a variety of handcrafted items, including decorative wreaths, holiday centerpieces, cemetery boxes and assorted decorations and greens.

All of the items contained different types of live, fresh greens, which were collected by club members. The club is a nonprofit, and has been around since the 1950s.

Members said the club looks to attract people who are interested in subjects like horticulture, gardening, and floral arranging.

"We go out into the forest and collect all the bows and the berries, bring them back, and then create the arrangements," said Sally Anderson, the club's president. "The women create the bows themselves."

"This is a fun event. It brings the club members together," Anderson added. "We all chat, talk, enjoy some good food, and create some lovely things."

Proceeds from the sale will support various programs, scholarships and local beautification projects. Club members said they sold hundreds of items this year.
