VILLANOVA, Pa. - One of the most memorable seasons in Holy Cross football history came to an end Friday night, as the Crusaders fell to Villanova 21-16 in the second round of the FCS Playoffs.

Holy Cross finished the season with a 10-3 record and as Patriot League champions for the third-straight year.

Seniors on the team said this season was special and they hope the legacy they are leaving can help propel future Holy Cross teams to similar success.

"I'm coming out of this program a much better person than when I went into it," said senior defensive lineman Benton Whitley. "I've learned a lot of things I can take with me in life. I hope leaving this program, my class left it with a culture that can carry on into the future."

This was the first time in program history Holy Cross football reached the second round of the FCS Playoffs.
