WORCESTER, Mass. - The trailer for the new movie "The Tender Bar" was released and both the city of Worcester and a Worcester State University professor made the cut.

Scenes for the Amazon Original movie were shot in Worcester in April. The film is directed by George Clooney and stars Ben Affleck, Tye Sheridan and Christopher Lloyd.

The movie is an adaptation of journalist J.R. Moehringer’s memoir, “The Tender Bar.”

Worcester State University adjunct professor Steve Gagliastro is an extra who interacts with Affleck's character and the character of Moehringer as a young boy.

Gagliastro says being able to work with stars like Clooney and Affleck was exciting.

“One of the neat moments was between takes. I was a few feet away from them and they were having conversations about music for the film. They start talking about Jackson Browne and about a certain album and they were finishing each other's sentences. One would start the lyric of the song and the other would pick it up and finish. They knew all the lyrics,” Gagliastro said.. “So to see these two guys having this moment talking about music they had in common and they're these great celebrities they're just two guys talking and it was really fantastic to watch it."

“The Tender Bar” opens December 17 in select theaters and will be on Prime Video on January 7.

Gagliastro can be seen in the trailer below sitting at the bar talking to Affleck’s character at the :35 mark.
