WORCESTER, Mass. - The construction of a solar parking canopy structure at North High School in Worcester is underway.

Contractors began construction of the parking canopy in August.

The structure will have a capacity of 718 kilowatts and once completed will be the second largest solar array on municipal property after the Greenwood Street landfill solar farm.

Solar parking canopies will also be constructed at the Worcester senior center, Nelson Place Elementary School and West Tatnuck Elementary School.
