PITTSFIELD, Mass.- Taconic High School looks to the community in an open survey for help deciding a new mascot.
The Pittsfield School Committee voted in Aug. 2020 to retire the Taconic High School’s previous “Brave” moniker and mascot. The marketing agency, HEARD Strategy & Storytelling, will help the school rebrand now that the mascot will be changed.
Principal Matthew Bishop expresses his enthusiasm towards the mascot change.
“We’re thrilled to begin the important work of making our school and our mascot representative of everyone in the district,” Bishop said. “We’re excited to see what ideas the community has during the open survey portion of the process.”
Once the survey closes, the nominations will be revised and narrowed down to a smaller list that will be presented to the students and school committee to vote on.
While the rebranding process will take many months, the committee anticipates to unveil the new mascot by the end of the year.
All Pittsfield community members are encouraged to complete the form. The survey will be open for two week starting Wednesday, Oct. 6.
