CHICOPEE, Mass.- Four candidates will find their names on the November municipal election ballot in Chicopee.

Numbers from Tuesday's preliminary election show school committee at-large candidates Susan Ann Szetela Lopes and Stephen Nembirkow are both advancing to November’s election.

Szetela Lopes received 64.44% of the votes with 462 votes and Nembirkow won 21.62% of the votes with 155 votes. Challenger Donald Vadnais only picked up 13.53% of the votes with 97 votes.

Ward Five city council candidates Frederick Krampits and John Kivel will have a place on the ballot in the November election as both received the majority of votes. Krampits won 51.08% of the votes with 95 votes and Kivel took 38.71% of the votes with 72 votes. Alissia Heath only won 17 votes.

Mayor John Vieau says the citywide turnout for the preliminary election had a turnout of 1.9%.

The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2.
