NORTH GRAFTON, Mass. - A Central Massachusetts emergency animal hospital is not able to accept new patients in its critical care unit.

The Foster Hospital for Small Animals at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is not taking on additional cases due to the number of patients already hospitalized.

Tufts is asking people to call the Emergency Room before showing up to see if they can treat a pet in need of non-critical emergency care.

If they are unable to see an animal, the hospital will provide alternate facilities to pet owners.

Tuft's Hospital for Large Animals continues to provide emergency care and has started to reschedule elective cases.
