WORCESTER, Mass. - The fate of the former Becker College campus is up for grabs at Tuesday night’s town meeting in Leicester.

Throughout the summer, the town of Leicester has been looking to purchase the properties of Becker College and transform the former Leicester campus into a high school. The purchase would cost roughly $20 million.

Becker College permanently closed at the end of the academic year and still owns the properties.

Town administrator David Genereux says they hope a campus-style high school experience will better prepare students for college life.

The proposed acquisition must pass at both the town meeting with two-thirds majority and the election with a simple majority.

Residents wishing to vote should plan to attend both the town meeting and the election. Information for the meeting can be found on the town's website here.
