WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester teachers’ union says they may be in favor of a mandatory vaccination.
Education Association of Worcester president Roger Nugent says mandatory vaccinations for teachers could help the community reach herd immunity.
He says a large number of union members are already vaccinated.
If City Manager Ed Augustus mandates a vaccine requirement for city employees, it would include educators.
"We have to err on the side of caution,” Nugent said. “This is nothing to play with and the responsible thing to do is get vaccinated.”
Nugent says the union also supports the mandatory masks in schools.
