WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester is preparing for some extreme heat forecasted for the next few days.

The Worcester Senior Center is open Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as a cooling center. 

The City says elderly residents are encouraged to seek relief there. 

The Worcester Public Library at Salem Square will also be a cooling center.

The City is advising residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in cool places, and wear lightweight clothing. 

The City's pool at Crompton Park, spray parks at East Park and Greenwood Street and three of its beaches are open daily from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
