Joey "Jaws" Chestnut is the hot dog eating champion for the 14th time. He ate 76 hot dogs and buns in just 10 minutes to win the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating contest, and broke the record he set during last year's contest.

Oxford's Geoffrey Esper finished second in the contest, taking down a total of 50 hot dogs and buns during the 10-minute time span. When we talked to Esper Saturday before the competition, we asked him what it feels like after eating such a crazy amount of hotdogs.

"It's not fun,” Esper said. “That's over 10 pounds of just hot dogs and buns. Never mind how much water you took in. And when that salt hits your system and your body just starts holding water and you start to get puffy and you don't feel good, it's not as much fun as you might think it is. Hot dogs is one thing, you know, if you over-eat on your favorite food, it's not your favorite food anymore. Believe me."

Esper said his goal was to surpass 50 hot dogs and break his personal best of 51. Before this year, Esper's best performance in the contest was 47 hot dogs in a third place finish back in 2019.
