HAMPDEN COUNTY, Mass. - The Massachusetts State Police will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint this weekend in Hampden County.

The checkpoint will be operated during varied hours beginning Saturday evening, June 12 to Sunday morning, June 13.

This is the fourth scheduled checkpoint this year in Hampden County.

According to the State Police, the purpose of the checkpoints is the help educate the public on the need of detecting and removing motor vehicle operators under the influence of alcohol and drugs from roadways. The checkpoint is funded through a grant from the Highway Safety Division of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security.
