WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester's Indian Lake will be treated for algae this week and residents are advised to stay out of the water.
The city says treatments will begin Thursday with aluminum sulfate which controls the growth of toxin-producing algae by removing phosphorus from the water.
People, boats, and pets are encouraged to stay out of the water until Friday. Once the application is complete, the treatment poses minimal risk.
