The Massachusetts Vietnam Memorial at Worcester's Green Hill Park is a great place for reflection and learning.

The memorial is separated into three different places.

The Place of Flags has the American flag, the Massachusetts state flag, and a POW/MIA flag.

The Place of Words has text etched in granite, taken directly from handwritten letters sent home by servicemembers who died while serving in Vietnam.

And finally, the Place of Names lists all the names of Massachusetts residents who died in combat, as a result of wounds while in Vietnam or are still MIA.

The memorial lists the names of 1,546 men and one woman.

Veteran Phil Madaio said, "It makes me pleased that we get so many people here. Most of them are Vietnam vets and they come here but, I'm really impressed with what we have up here. It's very beautiful. It's a beautiful setting up here."

Gold Star Families placed a wreath in front of the monument.
