WORCESTER, Mass. - On the 75th anniversary of the Worcester Regional Airport, JetBlue announces the return of commercial flights to the airport.
JetBlue will resume flights on August 19 with daily non-stop service between JFK International Airport in New York and Worcester. The flight will operate once daily and then twice daily beginning on October 21.
Joanna Geraghty, President and COO of JetBlue, said, "For those flying to New York, these flights will make it easy to connect to one of our 70 plus domestic and international destinations at JetBlue's Terminal 5."
Also beginning on October 21, JetBlue will resume once daily non-stop service between Worcester and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"Fort Lauderdale has tremendous connections down South into the Caribbean and Latin America," Geraghty said.
JetBlue has operated service in Worcester since 2013. The airline suspended operations at Worcester indefinitely last summer because revenue and demands for air travel were down during the pandemic.
American Airlines and Delta also suspended their operations last year. Massport is looking to bring back all three airlines and are also trying to bring other airlines to Worcester.
