GRAFTON, Mass. - Crews are wrapping up filming for Showtime’s hit show ”Dexter" on Chestnut Street in Grafton on Friday.

The popular series centers around Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician by day, serial-killer by night, and will run for a 10-episode limited series and premiere in October. "Dexter" ran for eight seasons on Showtime before ending in 2013.

The show has been filming throughout Central Massachusetts.

According to a message board, Friday is last day that Chestnut Street will be closed for filming. Chestnut Street is off of North Street and has been closed since May 17.

Like during filming in a neighborhood in Worcester last week, lawns in front of Chestnut Street homes had fake snow on them to make the scenes look like winter.

Parts of Norcross Park on North Street, including the parking lot and basketball court, are also closed to the public. Multiple tents and support vehicles with the film crew are staged there. Support vehicles also staged in Grafton Flea Market parking lot on Route 140.

This isn't the first run in the town of Grafton has had with Hollywood. The gazebo in the town's common was built for the 1935 film "Ah Wilderness!," starring Lionel Barrymore and Mickey Rooney.
