Sterling's Meadowbrook Orchards celebrated their first annual Apple Blossom Festival Saturday.

The outing featured a number of things for families to do, including a hay ride, crafts, as well as some live music.

General Manager David Chandler said the farm has been in his family for more than a century, dating back to 1912.

He said it's nice to see people enjoying the outdoors finally.

"We've had a lot of open space all along,” said Chandler. “We've had a lot of people out here. We've definitely had a growth in people getting out locally and, like I said, we've got the space so people can spread out. They're enjoying being able to get out.”

The festival also kicks off the orchard's barbecue season.

Chandler said they host Thursday night barbecues with all sorts of smoked meats.
