WORCESTER, Mass. - Opening Day at Polar Park in Worcester is getting closer and one city councilor wants some answers.
City Councilor At-Large Khrystian King is asking City Manager Ed Augustus to prepare a plan concerning traffic and public safety around Polar Park.
King says now is the time for Worcester to prepare for the baseball season, so the City doesn’t have any surprises when more foot traffic arrives.
King says he wants to know how the City is going to work with the neighborhoods surrounding the park.
“I would really like to know and determine if there’s something similar to the Ambassadors we see downtown, working to make sure the neighborhood is presentable,” King said. “To make sure we have community partners that have an input on public safety in order to enhance that response."
Work is ongoing at and around Polar Park. The home opener for the Worcester Red Sox is scheduled for May 11.
