WORCESTER, Mass. - A top college hockey tournament is coming to Worcester later this year. It will feature some of the best programs in the country.
The College of the Holy Cross will host the 2021 Ice Breaker Tournament in October.
The Crusaders men’s hockey team will be joined by Boston College, Northeastern University, and Quinnipiac University in the four team tournament and games will be played on Friday, October 8 and Saturday, October 9.
While times and matchups are still to be determined, Holy Cross expects to play Boston College and Northeastern.
The three teams coming to Worcester are all currently ranked in the Top 20 in the United States College Hockey Online [USCHO] Men's Division 1 poll, with Boston College ranked number one overall.
This is the first time the Ice Breaker Tournament will be played in Massachusetts since Boston University hosted the event in 2008.
