SHREWSBURY, Mass. - The Shrewsbury Police Department adjusted their annual toy drive by hosting a drive-thru drop off on Saturday.

Signs and cones were set up at Shrewsbury Town Hall and Santa was there to welcome everyone who made a toy donation.

Police also accepted gift cards, toiletries, and laundry supplies.

By noon, a police wagon, a pickup truck, and six cruisers were filled.

Shrewsbury Police Chief Kevin Anderson said, "We're very fortunate in shrewsbury, we're very supportive of the community. This has been all day a straight line of people coming in since 9 a.m. This is going to be a great, great program here for people that need it."

Chief Anderson says 2020 has been their best year so far.  The toys went to Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services and the household items will be going to Saint Anne’s Church for distribution.
