UXBRIDGE, Mass. - A local principal receives a special honor from the Massachusetts School Administrator Association.

Uxbridge High School's Michael Rubin is being recognized as the Massachusetts high school Principal of the Year for 2020.

The program recognizes principals who show extraordinary ability in instructional leadership, provide a safe learning environment, and foster a collaborative culture.

Rubin was originally scheduled to receive the honor over the summer but the ceremony was moved to Wednesday due to schools being closed because of the pandemic. Rubin is in his sixth year as the head Spartan at Uxbridge High School.
