Data from the Worcester Police Department shows crime is on the decline in the city.
A report provided by Chief Steven Sargent to the City Council shows year-to-year declines in both violent and property crimes.
In the first six months of 2020, the trend continued with arrests down nearly 36 percent and significant decreases in Breaking and Enterings, Robberies, and Stabbings.
Police say one notable area of increase is in non-fatal shootings and are working with city administration and community organizations to address the issue.
The full report will be presented at the City Council meeting on Tuesday night.
